Coworking Spaces are cropping up in communities across the American West, providing an increasingly popular workspace alternative for location-neutral, freelance, and independent workers. But while some see Coworking as a trendy millennial niche, many communities have learned to wield it as a powerful economic development tool.

This webinar explores the role of Coworking spaces as an important tool for community and economic development. Featuring speakers from both the economic development and coworking fields, the presenters discuss the measurable impacts of coworking spaces (especially in small cities across the American West), as well as tips and lessons learned from the field.

Brian Watson is an entrepreneur, connector, and community developer. Brian has been starting and running businesses since he was 17 and believes that entrepreneurship is the greatest tool we have to positively impact our communities. His startup, Proximity, strives to help connect the world’s mobile workforce through an innovative combination of hardware and software that manages coworking spaces across the world.

Danielle Lendriet oversees Blueprint 2.0 for the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade. After nearly eight years in the hospitality industry she assumed this role to empower rural communities to identify catalysts for positive economic change through technical assistance. She has B.A. in Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder with an Environmental and Natural Resource Emphasis.
