Tom Boyd

Chairman of the Board

Tom was born and raised in Eagle County, Colorado, one of the fastest growing counties in the country. Early on, Tom became involved in the discussions about growth and the future of the American West through his role as a journalist for the Rocky Mountain News, Denver Post, and as editor of the small weekly newspaper the Vail Trail. Later, after working at several Olympic events as a media specialist, Tom began working in the development and nonprofit worlds to help organizations differentiate themselves in a crowded media landscape.

Tom is currently a Director at the Vail Valley Foundation, where he is Media Chief for the Birds of Prey World Cup ski races, the GoPro Mountain Games, and Director of the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater. Along with his role as Chairman of the Community Builders Board of Directors, Tom is a member of the Board of Directors for the Eagle River Watershed Council, helped co-author the Eagle County Climate Action Plan, and is active coaching youth soccer and hockey. He lives in Edwards, Colorado, with his wife, Renee, and two boys Tyler and Alex.
