Alison is driven from the belief that designers have a social responsibility to influence the dynamic between space and people as a way of creating better communities in which to live. She joined Community Builders in 2017 with 15 years of experience designing and managing projects ranging from regional planning to detailed site design. This broad understanding allows her to creatively problem solve issues that align with community values. Alison is an AICP certified planner and Colorado licensed landscape architect, with a Bachelors of Landscape Architecture from the University of Illinois and a Masters of Urban Design from the University of Colorado Denver.
Alison was born and raised in Chicago, having spent the last 20 years living in urban centers and rural mountain towns. She is now happily settled in New Castle, Colorado, with her husband, Matt, and son, Asher. Alison enjoys running for extended periods of time, skiing, and yoga. She also loves cooking a fabulous dinner while drinking wine and sharing stories with friends.
